FIVE MORE WEEKS!!! Possibly even less than that… and hopefully not any longer.
Five more weeks until our due date of February 29th (YES… a leap year baby). Five more weeks until I get to see the face of a precious little girl that I have waited a very long time to meet. Five more weeks until Randy and I start our family. Five more weeks of starring at her nursery envisioning what it will be like when she is here… five more weeks of feeling and seeing her every little movement while she is in my belly. Five more weeks of my first pregnancy….. FIVE MORE WEEKS!!!
It will go by like the blink of an eye. Heck, the past 35 weeks have gone by that fast. For all you women out there that have been through a pregnancy, I admire you all!!! As excited as I am about bringing a new life into this world, there are a lot of other things I am excited about to…. so, not only is it 5 more weeks until she gets here… its 5 more weeks until I have my body back (for the most part anyway!)
I decided to make a list of all these little things that #1 we take for granted that we can do before being 7+ months pregnant and #2 all those little things people don’t tell you about that happen during pregnancy!! (Please feel free to add on!!!)
- I can’t wait to bend over without having to hold my breath.
- Being able to get dressed while standing up instead of having to sit down to put panties on or pants on.
- Putting on socks without it absolutely killing me.
- Wearing tennis shoes without having my husband tie them for me.
- Looking down and actually being able to see FEET!!! That will be great.
- Shaving….. PERIOD!!!!!! (something else that I just want to be able to look down and SEE what I am doing.)
- Turning around in the car to see while backing up.
- Getting clothes out of the washer and/or the dryer.
- Being able to roll over in the bed without having to mentally prepare myself to do so. I literally feel like a boxer hyping myself up just to roll over.
- Getting out of bed
- Getting in bed
- Breathing!
- Being comfortable while: sitting, standing, walking, laying, eating, laughing, driving, living….
- Sex….. seriously!
- speaking of sex… sexy panties and bras are nowhere to be found right now. Totally granny style all the way . (Don’t tell me this is just me either… all you pregnant chicks are totally sporting the granny panty!)
- Boobies… need I say more?!
- Sleep… okay maybe this is forever gone but I can wish!)
- (maybe this is just me) I carry a cup in my car just incase I get nauseas and need to vomit while driving. It has come in handy several times!!!!!
- wearing clothes other than pj’s all day long.
- Telling a story without feeling like I ran a marathon.
- Remembering things… (wishful thinking)
- DREAMS! They are CRAZY! Lately it has been that I forget to feed her, or change her diaper. WEIRD.
- Carrying multiple bags of groceries in at one time instead of having to make 8 trips because they are sooooo heavy
- the dreaded…constipation, and of course Gas. Super embarrassing while at Target and you bend over to get something off the bottom shelf and …. well… you just have no control!!!!!
- feeling like you are 3 years old because sometimes you just pee your pants
(DON’T ACT LIKE THIS DOESN’T HAPPEN TO YOU BECAUSE YOU KNOW IT DOES!!! That baby give one hard kick to your bladder and bam… you need new panties.
OR… you laughed to hard, sneezed (that 3rd one will get ya), coughed, vomited… pretty sure you just pissed your pants.) - More about peeing…. this is a problem! Not only do you have to pee ALL THE TIME, but you get to a point where you sit down to pee and nothing… NOT EVEN A DROP comes out. JUST SNEEZE THOUGH, it will help! haha
- Having a stock pile of TUMS. Im starting to think they are candy.
- Stairs…
- having a big, somewhat dark, maybe even crooked, line down the middle of your belly
- I think my belly button is literally a push button now. It sticks WAY out!!!
- being a bitch… (i think I might miss having “pregnancy” as a defense for being bitchy a lot!)
- VIP treatment is great… but seriously, its nice to be a little independent sometimes.
- I CAN’T WAIT TO BUY NORMAL CLOTHES. I feel like maternity clothes look like school teacher clothes. I am not a school teacher, nor do I want to be a school teacher. Please just make normal, attractive, AFFORDABLE, clothing.
- Strangers touching the belly… I just want to smack them and say “yes there IS a baby in there, but that belly is still part of MY body!!!”
- SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH UNWANTED ADVICE!!!!!!!!
- everyone will have an opinion about the name you pick, ESPECIALLY the name you don’t pick… and no one holds their feelings in about it.
- WADDLE, WADDLE, WADDLE!!! (makes me feel like I should quack every now and then.)
- oh.. and comments from strangers too. “You look HUGE!” “Are you sure you aren’t having twins.” “You’re only 7 months? Gosh… I was positive you were going to deliver this week.” “YOU ARE ABOUT TO POP.” Nope… pretty sure I have 5 more weeks! hahah
So, 5 more weeks… and I know life won’t be “back to normal” ever again and some of these things will always happen (hopefully not the peeing my pants part), but I am seriously looking forward to being me again!
And of course being a mom to our precious baby girl!!!!!!!
